How long have you been a client of JUMP START?

Since February 2007.

Why did you originally start?

We had our wedding coming up in June and neither of us wanted to be wobbling around in our wedding gear in front of our family & friends.

What do you enjoy best about JUMP START?

Without doubt it’s the trainers we’ve had during our time at Jump Start. They bring something new to each session by way of activities and they are consistent in their genuine interest in who they train and the successes that they help people achieve. Being outside in fresh air in a beautiful part of the world certainly helps you get to each session.

What goals have you achieved?

Neither the bride nor groom wobbled around on the wedding day! My core strength is vastly improved which means no more niggling lower back pain. One of my trainers Luke convinced me that I should test my fitness and encouraged me to enter the 9km bridge run. I did and I was pretty pleased about being able to finish it.

What types of sessions do you participate in?

Mostly Russ & I do a buddy session but I’ve done a few personal training sessions when Russ has been out of town.

Is there anything in particular that has helped you reach your goals?

A sense of humour! However more importantly it’s been building friendships with the trainers at Jump Start who encourage & inspire you to get the most out of every session and who willingly share with you their expertise for your personal benefit.

What are your goals for the future?

So, Luke would want me to say ‘hold the plank for more than 5minutes’, Heidi would say ‘lunge the length of Primrose Park’, Deb would say ‘run the Folly Point Hill again’, and Kathryn ‘wear leg weights all day’!! I’d say it’s maintaining the level of fitness I have reached now. We’d love to have kids so giving them the best possible start in life by me being as healthy as possible is definitely the next most important goal.

Any advice for people thinking of starting a health and fitness program?

Do it with Jump Start.
