How long have you been a client of JUMP START?
I have been with JUMP START for 9 months.
Why did you originally start?
I could see JUMP START members exercising through my window, and thought, “I really want to be a part of that”. But the last push came from my next-door neighbour Pam who raved about the classes and encouraged me to participate.
What do you enjoy best about JUMP START?
I enjoy the fact that you know that you are committed to a session, you know that people are waiting for you, and you know that you are a part of a team.
What goals have you achieved?
My self-image has improved, and I have started to believe that I can explore new realms of possibilities that I wouldn’t have considered before I joined JUMP START. My body and my self-esteem alike have gotten a new lease on life; I feel younger.
What types of sessions do you participate in?
Small group sessions twice a week and I have recently started Walk to Trot once a week.
Is there anything in particular that has helped you reach your goals?
The motivation that comes with being a part of a group, my dedicated trainers, as well as the fact that we are out interacting with nature, and not stuck indoors. I have been a member of several different gyms in the past…you can come and go; nobody pays any heed. But at JUMP START there is such a personal atmosphere, and the trainers work with you as an individual, guided by your personal needs.
What are your goals for the future?
Now that I’ve become fit and confident, I can do anything! I want to learn to ski and even run a baby-marathon one day.
Any advice for people thinking of starting a health and fitness program?
Just start. The hardest step is the first, but the possibilities are endless. Good luck!
