How long have you been a client of JUMP START?
Since July 2003.
Why did you originally start?
I was pretty out of shape and overweight and ready to do something about it.
What do you enjoy best about JUMP START?
I like being outdoors and the “competitive nature” of exercising with loved ones (my wife Sarah)
What goals have you achieved?
I’ve lost over 18 kgs and now do “man” pushups.
What types of sessions do you participate in?
Small groups twice a week.
Is there anything in particular that has helped you reach your goals?
Friendly pressure from trainers and giving up beer on weekdays. That, and a large mirror in the bathroom.
What are your goals for the future?
We set up some real-world goals when we started: be able to outrun a pursuer and pull ourselves up off of the edge of a cliff. I still have that second one to go.
Any advice for people thinking of starting a health and fitness program?
DO IT! And stick with it past that first hellish month
