How long have you been a client of JUMP START?
About 2 and a half years.
Why did you originally start?
A friend (Anne Davies!) convinced me to join up for a Vitality Challenge program. I had previously been a member of a gym and got bored with it and hadn’t done any regular fitness program for about 6 months.
What do you enjoy best about JUMP START?
I love exercising outside because I spend all day in an air conditioned office and it is so nice to be out early in the fresh air listening to the birds rather than some awful disco music at the gym! I also like the diversity of different trainers and different types of classes.
What goals have you achieved?
I’m much more toned than I used to be and my cardio fitness is gradually improving. The Silly Season program before Christmas helped me lose 5 kilos and an inch off my bum … not sure quite how much has gone back on but not all of it!
What types of sessions do you participate in?
I do two group sessions a week plus I’ve just joined the Monday morning ‘Run 4 Fun’ club.
Is there anything in particular that has helped you reach your goals?
Just the enjoyment of working out in a small group in the lovely parks around Cammeray – makes exercising fun.
What are your goals for the future?
I’d love to lose another 5 kilos and improve my cardio fitness to a level where I am comfortable doing the City To Surf this year.
Any advice for people thinking of starting a health and fitness program?
Just do it!
