How long have you been a client of JUMP START?
Since mid December 2005
Why did you originally start?
To lose weight and improve our health! We had tried exercising at gyms for many years, but we usually only went for the first few weeks and then found excuses not to go. Matt was the one who thought it was a good idea if we got a personal trainer to make us exercise.
What do you enjoy best about JUMP START?
Training Outdoors and having someone tell you what to do for your exercise routine. We also love having designated days and times to exercise with a trainer – then there are no last minute
What goals have you achieved?
Where do we start!Combined with Jumpstart training and modifying our diet, we have lost a combined weight of 36kg and 72.5cm between us since we started in December. We remember Cindy telling us at our re-assessment recently that we’d sacrificed / burnt nearly a quarter of a million calories between us to achieve our weight loss! Matt’s blood pressure and cholesterol have come down to normal. Our fitness has improved so much - we couldn’t do jogging in our first sessions, and now we jog and do sprints regularly. We’ve also noticed our core strength has improved.
What types of sessions do you participate in?
Buddy Sessions together.
Is there anything in particular that has helped you reach your goals?
The trainers at Jumpstart have helped push us and motivate us to achieve more from our training sessions each week as our fitness improves. Thanks Cindy, Deb and Ben in particular.
What are your goals for the future?
To continue to increase our fitness, lose the rest of our weight and improve our overall health. We hope to never go back to being in-active and overweight. We still have a way to go in achieving our weight loss goals, but we know we can achieve it.
Any advice for people thinking of starting a health and fitness program?
We highly recommend Jumpstart to anyone considering starting a health and fitness program. Everyone is really friendly, all the trainers are very encouraging and it’s so much fun training Outdoors! What are you waiting for!
