How long have you been a client of JUMP START?
Since December 2004, almost 5 years.
Why did you originally start?
While I enjoy exercising I am not good at pushing myself. With Jump Start I am continually amazed at how much harder I can work and what I can achieve with the right programs and support.
What do you enjoy best about JUMP START?
For me the number one attraction is being outside. I love the fact that rain, hail or shine we will be exercising. The Jump Start community is very inclusive. It is great to train with like minded clients. Heidi and her team provide constant encouragement and are always flexible with their programs.
What goals have you achieved?
I want to be able to keep up with my kids at the beach and the park and when they start playing sport. I cannot wait until they thrash me at tennis or fly past me on the snowfields (that won’t take long!).
Jump Start has helped me to maintain my fitness. When pregnant with my son I trained through to week 38! I did my first Vitality Challenge when he turned one and I suspect that contributed to the prompt arrival of his sister the following year.
My daughter is now 2 and I have just completed my second Vitality Challenge and the results were just as impressive – I have lost 6 kilos in 5 weeks! Including 7cms off my hips! I feel great, am eating better and am sleeping better. Last weekend I completed my first ever 9K run - and I didn’t stop once!
What types of sessions do you participate in?
I love the Fitness Circuits and Boxing classes. I love the mixture of cardio and strength work in these sessions, as they are a great release after a day with the kids! I have signed up for my first Body Stretch Class next week
Is there anything in particular that has helped you reach your goals?
More sleep, Heidi’s ongoing encouragement and flexibility (juggling kids, work, husbands, etc), the Jump Start Team and seeing results.
What are your goals for the future?
To keep up my Jump Start sessions twice a week, to regularly participate in Fun Runs throughout the year and to start swimming with the goal to compete in a Beach Swim or Masters Event.
Any advice for people thinking of starting a health and fitness program?
Start now, the Jump Start team are great are tailoring workouts to any fitness level, injury or concern. You’ll wonder why you didn’t start sooner!
