Core Strength

Core Strength is a pilates-derived session that is catered for all levels and will utilise your own body strength and weight to strengthen your core, abs and lower back. This will help to reduce your chances of back pain, injury, and muscles inbalances.

The other benefits that you will experience are:

  • improved flexibility,
  • muscle endurance,
  • long and lean muscles,
  • improved balance and
  • enhanced relaxation and stress release.

What do I need to bring

  • a yoga/pilates style mat and/or towel
  • a few layers of clothing, as you will warm-up during the session
  • water

Who would this class benefit?

    This class caters for a wide range of people including:-
  • Full time workers sitting daily in front of a computer
  • Women who need to re-strengthen their core after child birth
  • Executives who travel a lot and don’t have much time for postural awareness and body strengthening
  • Regular exercisers wanting to become more mobile and flexible to enhance their current training needs
  • People returning to exercise after some time off who require a slow introduction back into body awareness and building body strength

Should I eat before or after the class?

Core Strength is best done on an empty tummy. Ideally you should allow 4 hours from your last big meal and 2 hours from a snack. But if you must eat just before class, then a small piece of fruit or juice is OK. It's also best to have gone to the toilet before practice. Eating after class is fine.

How many in the class?

Class size will be restricted to 15, to ensure individual attention. So get in quick before all the spots go!

What if it rains?

If it rains the class will be re-located in the downstairs area of the Anglican Church on Carter St, Cammeray. This is where the occasional child care centre used to be. You will receive an SMS message at 9.00am if the class is to be re-located.

What is the cost?

$25 per session

What if I miss a week?

As long as you give us the 24hrs notice then that is fine, otherwise if you cancel within the 24hr period or don't show up, then you will lose a credit from your pack. If your trainer cannot make the allocated time, then you will get a complimentary session.
